Community Outreach Coordinator - State Access For All (SAFA) Program 

Program Summary:

The SAFA Program is a one-year project-specific initiative designed to expand safe, reliable, high-quality wheelchair-accessible transportation for individuals (not age-related) with disabilities, delivered by consumer-sensitive, compliant drivers.

The Community Outreach Coordinator position supports program management, community outreach, consumer engagement, event coordination, and social media posting for Riverside and Orange Counties. This position reports directly to the Chief Compliance and Partnership Officer.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

The Community Outreach Coordinator role supports the day-to-day implementation and operations of outreach activities, including leading and coordinating outreach strategies to build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders. The candidate will work with the Outreach Team to engage individuals with disabilities who meet the SAFA Program's eligibility criteria.  The role is responsible for assisting in the development of engagement initiatives, representing the organization at events, and increasing awareness of the SAFA Program and how to access its services.  The candidate must be a relationship-builder who is passionate about community impact and skilled in communication, collaboration, and program coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and coordinating outreach events,  listening sessions, and community meetings

  • Provide content and photos for the SAFA program social posting and website updates

  • Work with the Outreach Team Members to build relationships with advocacy groups, disability partners, disability resources, and senior centers

  • Work with the Outreach Team Members, conduct outreach presentations to disability-serving and community-based organizations

  • Participate and/or host presentations at workshops, enrollment events, listening sessions, etc.

  • Serve as a point of contact for community partners and disability advocacy groups

  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and recommend program improvements

  • Maintain outreach databases and referral networks

  • Maintain activity logs and monthly reports

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in social services and nonprofit settings

  • ·Experience working with individuals with disabilities, vulnerable populations, disability advocacy groups and organizations, and diverse disability communities

  • Knowledge of community outreach practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in software and database systems

  • Bilingual abilities preferred

Work Environment:

  • Office-based at the designated Butterfli office location

  • Evening or weekend events, and the ability to assist with events.

Salary Range:

  • $25.00 - $29.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
